#RV Braves Defeat Sterling, 3-0

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball continued its winning ways, defeating Sterling College 3-0; 25-12, 25-10, 25-15; in Wilson Field House on Wednesday night. The win was OU's ninth straight and its eighth straight sweep. The Braves have not dropped a set in KCAC play this season.

How it Happened
  • Ottawa scored the first four points of set one to take the early lead. Kills by Radaisy Valdez and Haylee O'Meara gave the Braves a 7-2 lead. OU extended its lead to 13-4 on a block by Kaitlyn Haller and Elli Rogers. OU held Sterling to six points for the reminder of the set, taking the 25-10 victory.
  • A service ace by Kaitlyn Haller gave the Braves a 4-0 lead over Sterling in set two. The Warriors scored the next four points to tie the set. Ottawa retook the lead on a kill by Valdez, 5-4. Ottawa went on a 9-1 run, taking a 14-6 lead over Sterling. A block by Rogers and Elstun and a kill by Elstun gave OU a 21-6 lead. The Braves held Sterling in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-10 victory.
  • Sterling took a 5-2 lead over the Braves at the start of set three. A kill by Haylee O'Meara tied the set, 5-5. The Warriors retook the lead 7-6. Ottawa answered with a 7-0 run and took 13-7 lead over Sterling on a kill by Haller. Ottawa never surrendered its lead, taking the 25-15 victory.

Ottawa (19-9, 7-0) travels to Bartlesville, Okla. to play Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Saturday, Oct. 22. The Braves and Eagles are both undefeated in the KCAC. The match are scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
