#RV Braves Move Past Avila, 3-0

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball team defeated Avila University 3-0; 25-10, 25-15, 25-6; on Wednesday night in Mabee Fieldhouse. The win is OU's 15th straight against the Eagles.

How it Happened
  • Ottawa jumped out to the 4-2 lead in set one. A block by Elli Rogers and Haylee O'Meara pushed the Brave lead to 7-3. The Braves increased its lead to 15-6 on a Jadore Hayes service ace. Avila never threatened the Brave lead and OU took the 25-10 victory.
  • The Eagles had a 3-1 lead to open set two. Ottawa scored two straight on a kill by Radaisy Valdez and a block by Valdez and Katleyn Elstun, to tie the set 3-3. Avila responded with a 6-2 run, taking a 9-5 lead over OU. Ottawa answered with five points, taking a 10-9 lead over Avila on a kill by Elstun. Ottawa held Avila to six points for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-15 victory.
  • Ottawa scored the first seven points of set three and never looked back, taking the 25-6 victory.
