WINFIELD, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's basketball team won its fourth straight game, taking an 83-36 victory over Southwestern College on Saturday afternoon in Stewart Field House.
The Braves fell behind early to Southwestern in the first quarter, 7-2. Ottawa responded by ending the first quarter on an 11-0 run to take a 13-7 lead into the second quarter.
Two free throws by
Hailey Henry gave OU a 15-7 lead with nine minutes to go in the second quarter. Southwestern cut into the Brave lead and was within 17-14. Ottawa answered by ending the second quarter on a 17-3 run, taking a 34-17 lead into the locker room.
Maria Moore got the scoring started in the second half with a jumper in the paint to give OU a 36-17 lead. Southwestern cut OU's lead to 16 points, 38-22 with 7:04 left in the third. Ottawa quickly pushed its lead back over 20 points, taking a 42-22 lead on a Moore basket.

Cierra Brown gave OU a 50-25 lead over Southwestern with 3:02 to go in the third quarter. A 3-pt basket by
Jordan Bianco and a free throw from Kennedy Bankett increased the OU lead to 54-27. Southwestern outscored Ottawa 5-2 in the final minute of the third and Ottawa took a 56-32 lead into the fourth.
Ottawa poured it on offensively in the fourth quarter, outscoring Southwestern 27-4 to take the 83-36 victory.
