No. 7 Braves Host Avila on Friday, First of Three Home Duals in December

OTTAWA, Kan. – The No. 7 Ottawa University men's wrestling team returns to Wilson Field House for the opening KCAC Dual on Friday, hosting Avila at 6 p.m. This will be the first of three home duals in the month of December. 

The Braves head into the KCAC opener with a 1-0 dual record, opening the season with a 26-13 win over No, 17 Baker. OU has competed in three open tournaments since the opening dual against Baker, performing well at some big time tournaments at Grand View and University Nebraska-Kearney. 

So far, the Braves had won all three KCAC Wrestler of the Week Award given out this season.

Avila has started their season well, with a 6-1 dual record in tournaments they have competed in so far this season. The Eagles are coming off a 7th place finish out of 46 teams at the Life Open hosted by No. 2 Life University. Avila has three wrestlers currently ranked in the top-25 nationally in their respective weight classes, Logan Johnson (149lb), Jett Merlo (165lb), Daryus Webb (184lb).
