WLAX: RV Braves Come Up Short to #6 Benedictine College, 21-9

ATCHISON, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's lacrosse dropped their regular season finale to the #6 Benedictine Ravens, 21-9, on Tuesday.
Benedictine showed why they are the #6 team in the country as they scored seven goals in the first to take a 7-0 lead. The Ravens added two more goals to take a 9-0 lead, Quinn Crandall got the Braves on the board with 12:33 left in the second to make the score 9-1. Benedictine found the back of the net five more times to extend their lead to 14-1. Cecily Anderson scored a goal to get the Braves within 12 at halftime of the Ravens. At half, OU trailed #6 Benedictine, 14-2.
In the second half, the Ravens scored three more goals to start the third and were up 17-2. Mackenzie Simmons threw in a goal with 7:38 remaining in the third to make the score 17-3. BC continued to show their dominance by scoring two more to make the score 19-2. Ottawa wouldn't shy away as they went on a 6-0 run to cut into the Ravens' lead. Crandall and Anderson scored two apiece; Shannon Carroll and Simmons found the back of the net once as well. Benedictine closed out the game with two goals and took the game over the Braves, 21-9.

Cecily Anderson and Quinn Crandall led Ottawa with three goals each. Crandall has pushed her goal count to 46 on the season and Anderson's goal count is 36. Mackenzie Simmons added two goals and Shannon Carroll connected for one goal. Crandall assisted on two goals and Ashley Santillan added one assist in the contest.
