OLATHE, Kan. -- The Ottawa University women's soccer team suffered an 8-0 defeat on the road to MidAmerica Nazarene on Wednesday afternoon. It was the 2022 season opener for Ottawa women's soccer, and head coach
Candice Fabry's first match at the helm.
The Pioneers struck first, with back-to-back goals from Sarah Assumma in the 11th and 20th minute. The Braves locked in and regrouped by holding MNU scoreless for the rest of the half, heading into the break down 2-0.
MNU started the second half strong, with three goals in quick succession to push their lead to 5-0 over OU. The Pioneers would add three more goals, with the match ending with an 8-0 scoreline.
