Braves Upend William Woods, 3-0

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball team defeated William Woods University 3-0; 25-13, 25-18, 25-20; on Friday morning in Wilson Field House.

How it Happened
  • Ottawa took the early 7-3 lead over William Woods after back-to-back kills by Lillian Holden. Two straight service aces by Jadore Hayes pushed the Brave lead to 14-5. The Owls never threatened the Brave lead and OU took the 25-13 victory.
  • Back-to-back kills by Elli Rogers in set two gave OU an 8-6 lead over William Woods. An Owl service error and a Radaisy Valdez kill gave OU an 11-8 lead. Ottawa increased its lead to 19-13 after a Valez kill. Ottawa never relinquished its lead, taking the 25-18 victory.
  • OU raced out to an 11-6 lead after two service aces by Kennedi Wyrick. William Woods cut into OU's lead and was within 15-13. Ottawa answered with kills by Valdez and Holden to take a 17-13 lead. That is all the closer the Owls would get and OU took the 25-20 victory.

  • Radaisy Valdez and Lillian Holden finished the match with double digit kills. Valden had 13 and hit .500. Holden finished with 10 kills, four blocks, and had a .409 attacking percentage.
  • Haylee O'Meara led OU with 27 assists and Kaitlyn Haller had a double-double, 12 assists and 12 digs.
