Braves Start 3-0 in KCAC Play with win over Saint Mary

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. -- A second half offensive explosion that included four goals in the last 45 minutes led the Ottawa University men's soccer team to a 6-3 win at Saint Mary on Saturday afternoon.

The Spires snuck one in early, with a goal from Romario Harding in the third minute. Ottawa would answer in the 17th minute, when Filippo Della Pasqua headed in a free kick from Alonso Basauri to tie the game at 1-1. After setting up the first goal, Basauri would go on to score a goal of his own in the 24th minute to give the Braves a 2-1 lead. Both teams settled and took the same scoreline of 2-1 halftime.

The second half would have some fireworks, with a total of six goals scored by both teams. Saint Mary was able to tie the game one more time, scoring in the 63rd minute. Ottawa struck back with two goals in the next ten minutes, taking a 4-2 lead behind goals from Bence Molnar and Francisco Arrua. From there, Braves would not allow the Spires deficit get no closer than two goals.
