OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa university women's soccer team was unable to fend off the Tabor Bluejays at AdventHealth Field on Wednesday night, allowing three different one goal leads slip away in a back and forth 3-3 draw .
The Braves started off quickly, with a fifth minute goal on the very first shot of the game from Jessenia minutes assisted by
Sidney Johnson. The Bluejays would settle, and not allow another Ottawa shot for the next 20 minutes. The Bluejays would tie the game in the 25
th minute, with a goal from Kylee Bush. The teams would head into the halftime break tied 1-1.
Both team's started to open things up in a second half that was packed with intense and physical play, which led to four yellow cards being shown in the half. The Braves seemed to have gained the upper hand in the opening minutes of the second half, with
Sidney Johnson's goal in the 53
rd minute putting the Braves up 2-1.
Tabor was able draw even in the 66
th minute with a goal from Sydney Takash. The Braves would go up by one goal once more in the 69
th minute, following a long goal from a shot outside the box by
Shaylee Miacolo. Tabor hung in there and battled, tying the game for the third time in the 85
th minute to earn a 3-3 draw against the Braves.
