BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball team finished day two of the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic with a record of 2-0. The Braves earned victories over two NAIA Top 25 teams, taking a 3-1; 25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 25-16 victory over no. 20 Carroll College and earning a 3-2; 25-13, 21-25, 22-25, 25-13, 15-8; win over no. 18 Taylor University. Kaitlyn Haller earned her first career, and the program's third, triple double in OU's five set victory over Taylor.
How it Happened – (20) Carroll College
- The Braves trailed the Saints 10-7 in set one. Ottawa rallied and took a 14-13 lead over Carroll on a CC attacking error. The Saints retook the lead and had a 19-17 advantage over the Braves. OU rallied, outscoring Carroll 8-1 to take the 25-20 victory.
- Carroll took a 5-2 lead over the Braves at the start of set two. Carroll pushed its lead to 9-3 but blocks by Megan Wall and Elli Rogers and a CC ball handling error cut the deficit to 9-5. OU chipped away at the deficit and tied the set on a kill by Radaisy Valdez, 11-11. The Saints responded with a 6-1 run, taking a 17-12 lead over the Braves. Kills by Valdez and Rogers put OU within 17-14. That is all the closer the Braves would get as the Saints closed out the set to take the 25-21 victory.
- In set three, it was the Braves taking the early lead. A kill by Alexa Boyle gave OU a 3-1 lead. Carroll cut into the Brave lead and took a 6-4 lead over OU. Ottawa answered behind the serving of Kennedi Wyrick, scoring the next six points to take a 10-6 lead. The Saints scored the next two points to cut OU's lead to 10-8. The Braves earned those two points back on two errors by the Saints to take a 12-8 lead. A kill by Haylee O'Meara gave the Braves a 19-15 lead. Carroll stayed close and cut OU's lead to 20-19. A kill by Rogers and a CC attacking error gave OU a 22-19 lead. Carroll answered, scoring three straight points to tie the set 22-22. The Braves responded with three straight points of their own. A Valdez kill gave OU a 23-22 lead. Haller increased OU's lead to 24-22 on a service ace and Ottawa took the set on another Valdez kill, 25-22.
- Ottawa dominated set four, taking a 14-3 lead. Carroll never threatened the Brave lead and OU took the 25-16 victory.

How it Happened – (18) Taylor University
- Ottawa took an early lead in set one over Taylor. Two straight kills by Alexa Boyle gave the Braves an 8-3 advantage over the Trojans. OU held Taylor to 10 points for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-13 victory.
- In set two, Taylor opened with a 9-6 lead. Ottawa scored three straight points, tying the set at 9-9. The teams exchanged points and a Trojan service error tied the set, 14-14. Taylor scored the next three points to retake the lead 17-14. Ottawa chipped away at the Taylor lead and after two straight kills by Haller, the Braves were within 19-18 of the Trojans. Ottawa stayed with in striking distance and was able to take a 21-20 lead. Taylor was able end the set by scoring the final five points, taking the 25-21 victory.
- In set three, Taylor jumped out to the 7-2 lead. Ottawa stayed close to Taylor and was within 23-21 of the Trojans after a kill by Valdez. TU scored the next point to take a 24-21 lead. Ottawa cut the deficit to 24-22. That is all the closer the Braves would get as the Trojans scored the next point to take the 25-22 victory.
- Two kills by Valdez and a kill by Boyle gave OU a 4-1 lead in set four. A service ace by Jadore Hayes pushed the OU lead to 7-3. Ottawa never relinquished its lead, forcing a set five by taking a 25-13 victory.
- Ottawa was the first team to eight in set five. After the two teams switched sides, a kill by Haller gave the Braves a 9-5 lead. Taylor was able to cut OU's lead to 11-8. The Braves responded by scoring the final four points of the set and the match to take the 15-8 victory.
