WICHITA, Kan. — JD Perez of No. 6 Ottawa University has been named the KCAC Men's Wrestler of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Perez was selected for his performances from Jan. 2-8 by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Jesse Daniel "JD" Perez went 5-0 for Ottawa University at the 2023 NWCA National Duals this past weekend in Louisville, Ken. Perez won his first three matches by fall, making quick work of his opponents on the first day of the tournament. Perez went 2-0 on the second day of the tournament, including a win over nationally ranked Nikolas Perovic of Lindsey Wilson.
