(23) Women's Volleyball Gets the Road Win Over Tabor, 3-1

HILLSBORO, Kan. – The (23) Ottawa University women's volleyball team defeated Tabor College, 3-1; 25-23, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22; on Saturday afternoon at Tabor Gymnasium.

How it Happened
  • Set one went back and forth with Tabor taking a 22-20 lead over the Braves. Ottawa scored the next three points, taking a 23-22 lead on a kill by Katelyn Elstun. The Bluejays scored the next point, tying the set at 23-23. Two Lillian Holden kills ended the set for the Braves and they took the 25-23 victory.
  • Ottawa took the early 4-1 lead over Tabor in set two. Tabor scored the next three points to tie the set, 4-4. Two straight kills by Jazlyn Westmoreland gave OU a 6-4 lead. The Braves increased their lead to 16-9 on a Kira Cherry kill. TC was not able to rally and the Braves took the 25-17 victory.
  • The Braves held the lead for most of set three. Tabor rallied and took a 22-21 lead over the Braves. Kills by Chaney Barth and Elstun gave OU a 23-22 lead. The teams exchanged points and the set was tied 24-24. Tabor was able score the final two points of the set, taking the 26-24 victory.
  • The Bluejays had a 14-10 lead over the Braves in set four. Ottawa did not go away and chipped away at the Tabor lead. The Braves tied the set at 17 all on a block by Blythe Manson. The Bluejays responded by scoring the next three points to take a 20-17 lead over the Braves. OU again rallied and tied the set, 20-20, on a Holden block. TC scored the next point to take a 21-20 lead. Ottawa answered by scoring the next four points to take a 24-21 lead on a Cherry block. Tabor cut into OU's lead on a Brave ball handling error, 24-22. Ottawa took the set and the match on the next point, a Holden kill, 25-22.
