Ottawa defeated Kansas Christian College 116-43 last Monday evening in Wilson Field House. The Braves set a new school record for points scored in a single game. OU shot 46.2 percent from the floor, 37 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 65 percent from the free throw line in the win over KCC.
Abby Dietsche leads the Braves in scoring, averaging 27 points per game.
Hailey Henry is OU's leader in rebounding with nine.
Nayeli Acosta and Henry are OU's leaders in assists per game (6). Henry also leads OU in steals per game with five.
Tuesday is the 63rd meeting between Ottawa University and Baker University. The Wildcats lead the series 37-25 and are on a six game winning streak against Ottawa. OU's last win over Baker happened on Nov. 15, 2013 in Baldwin City, Kan. Ottawa won the game, 70-66. OU's last win over Baker in Wilson Field House was on Nov. 11, 2011. The Braves took the 65-61 victory. The first meeting between the two teams happened in 1907 in Ottawa. OU took the 47-43 victory over Baker.
Baker University has started the 2023-24 season, 0-3. The Wildcats have losses to Baptist Bible (68-62) on Oct. 27, UHSP (68-42) on Nov. 3, and Holy Cross (66-61) on Nov. 4.
Emma Cunningham leads Baker in scoring, averaging 14 points per game. Matalina Ochoa is the other Wildcat in double figures, averaging 11.3 points per game. Cunnningham leads Baker in rebounding, averaging nine per game.
