PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team was defeated 3-0; 25-19, 25-16, 25-14; by no. 8 Park University on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
- Park jumped out to a 6-3 lead over the Braves in set one. Ottawa cut into the Pirate lead and after a kill by Trevan Johnson, the Braves were within 9-7. Park responded with a run and took a 12-7 lead over the Braves. OU was not able to rally and Park took the 25-19 victory.
- Three straight Park miscues at the start of set two by the Pirates had the set tied 4-4. A kill by Akiel Williams gave OU a 5-4 lead over Park. Park answered with another run, 10-5, to take a 15-9 lead over the Braves. Park never relinquished its lead, taking the 25-16 victory.
- In set three, Park took a 6-1 lead over the Braves. Ottawa did not wilt and after a block by Grant Younie, OU was within 14-12. Park put together an 8-1 run, taking a 22-13 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to respond and Park took the 25-14 victory.
