Braves Fall to #7 Georgetown, 3-1

PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-1; 25-13, 17-25, 20-25, 15-25; to no. 7 Georgetown College on Saturday morning at the Breckon Sports Center.

How it Happened
  • With set one tied, 5-5, the Braves went on a 6-0 run taking an 11-5 lead in a service ace by Kayden Kirby. Ottawa extended its lead and after an Akeil Williams kills, the Braves had a 17-9 lead. Ottawa held the Tigers in check for the rest of the set and OU took the 25-13 victory.
  • Georgetown opened set two with a 5-2 lead over the Braves. A kill by Williams and two straight Tiger attacking errors cut the deficit to 9-6. GC responded by increasing its lead to 14-8. Ottawa was not about to rally and Georgetown took the 25-17 victory.
  • The start of set three went back and forth with Georgetown taking a 6-5 lead. The Tigers scored the next three points, to take a 9-6 lead. Ottawa tried to rally and after a kill by Williams, was within 24-20. The Tigers took the set on the next point to take the 25-20 victory.
  • In set four, Georgetown opened with a 9-1 lead. The Braves were not able to rebound from its slow start and the Tigers took the 25-15 victory.
