The opening day began with 20 baker games to determine the knockout playoff bracket on the second day. Following the first day of 20 baker games, the OU ladies team headed in the playoff bracket as the number one seed.
The OU women's team proceeded to down Saint Mary, Missouri Baptist and Midland in the first three matches of the playoff bracket. Midland fought their way through the loser's bracket, setting up a rematch against the Braves in the final. OU once again came out on top over Midland, sweeping the playoff bracket to claim first place in the tournament and a trip to NAIA Nationals.
From Coach Poston
"There were several conference tournament upsets around the country. I told the ladies before the tournament, if you want to guarantee our spot in the national tournament then we had to bring our A-Game. We can't sit back and hope for an at-large bid for second place does us no good. They responded by going out and grabbing the #1 seed in qualifying and running through the bracket undefeated. We will enjoy this for a couple days then shift our focus to the inaugural KCAC tournament at Fusion Alley on Saturday."
