Braves Down Culver-Stockton, 3-0

CANTON, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team finished the regular season with a 3-0; 29-27, 25-18, 25-12; victory over non-conference opponent, Culver-Stockton College on Wednesday night at Charles Field House.

How it Happened
  • Culver-Stockton raced out to a 6-1 lead over the Braves in set one. Ottawa rallied and took a 15-12 lead on a Grant Younie kill. CSC responded with a rally of its own, taking a 24-22 lead over the Braves. Ottawa scored the next three points, kills by Michal Bak and Macort Pickup and a block by Pickup to take a 25-24 lead. The teams exchanged points and the set was tied, 27-27. OU finished the set by scoring the final two points, kills by Pickup and Younie, to take the 29-27 victory.
  • With set two tied, 14-14, a kill by Akeil Williams and a block by Williams and Francis Agosto gave OU a 16-14 lead. Ottawa pushed its lead to five points on two straight Bak kills, 21-16. Kevin Davidson's service ace ended the set and OU took the 25-18 victory.
  • Ottawa took the early 5-3 lead over Culver-Stockton in set three on a block by Bak and Kadeem Morris. OU extended its lead to 9-4 on a Wildcat attacking error. The Braves held CSC in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-12 victory.

  • The Braves finished the three set match with 51 kills, a .380 attacking percentage, 50 assists, four service aces, 37 digs, and 8.5 team blocks.
  • Michal Bak led OU with 16 kills on 28 swings. He finished with a .500 attacking percentage, two service aces, and six digs.
  • Akeil Williams was the other Brave with double digit kills. He had 12 kills and a .333 attacking percentag.e Williams also had eight digs and three blocks.
  • Jimmy Flores led OU with 25 assists and Andrew Salinas had 24 assists.
  • Kadeem Morris finished with a game high four blocks.
