OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa men's volleyball team moved its winning streak to three matches with a 3-0; 25-20, 26-24, 25-19; victory over Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon in Wilson Field House.
How it Happened
- Kansas Wesleyan took a 3-1 lead over the Braves at the start of set no. 1. Ottawa scored the next seven points, taking an 8-3 lead on a Grant Younie service ace. The Coyotes tried to rally and cut OU's lead to 24-20. Ottawa ended the set on a KWU attacking error, taking the 25-20 victory.
- In set two, Ottawa had a 20-14 lead over Kansas Wesleyan. The Coyotes rallied and took a 23-22 lead over the Braves. The teams exchanged points and KWU led 24-23. Ottawa answered with two kills from Michal Bak and a block by Bak to take the 26-24 victory.
- The Coyotes opened set three with a 4-1 lead. KWU pushed its lead to 10-3 over the Braves. Ottawa rallied, scoring the next nine points to take a 12-10 lead. A KWU miscue, an Andrew Salinas service ace, and a Younie kill gave OU a 17-13 lead. Ottawa held the Coyotes in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-19 victory.
