Braves Move Past Clarke, 3-0

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team won its second straight match with a 3-0; 25-19, 25-16, 25-15; victory over Clarke University on Saturday morning in Wilson Field House.

How it Happened
  • Ottawa scored the first three points of set one to take the early lead. Clarke chipped away at the Brave lead and tied the set, 5-5. The teams exchanged points and the set was tied at 13-13. Kills by Akeil Williams, Macort Pickup, and Grant Younie and a block by Williams and Pickup gave OU a 22-17 lead. Clarke was not able to rally and OU took the 25-19 victory.
  • Clarke took the lead in set two, 8-6. Ottawa rallied and led 12-11 on a Michal Bak kill. A kill by Kadeem Morris, two CU attacking errors, and a Kevin Davidson service ace gave the Braves a 19-15 lead. Clarke scored one more point in the set and the Braves responded by ending the set on a 6-0 run, taking the 25-16 victory.
  • The Pride scored the first two points of set three. Ottawa answered with the next three to take a 3-2 lead. The Braves pushed their lead to 12-8 over Clarke. A kill by Kayden Kirby and a block by Bak and Williams gave OU a 19-9 lead. The Pride did not stage a comeback and OU took the 25-15 victory.
