(RV)MLAX Claims KCAC Regular Season Title with 16-2 Win Over USM

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – (RV) Ottawa University (7-4, 4-0)  defeated Saint Mary (0-9, 0-3) with a commanding 16-2 victory in a weather shortened game following three periods of play. With the win, the Braves conclude the regular season with an undefeated conference record and hold the No. 1 seed heading into the upcoming KCAC Tournament.
 
The Braves team came out strong from the start, taking a commanding lead in the first period with six goals. Reid McDowell, Jacob Vincentini, Ethan NewMyer, Robert Roseberry, Vincent DeMarco, and Luke Spells all contributed to the scoring, giving Ottawa a 6-0 lead at the end of the first period.
 
In the second period, Ottawa continued their offensive onslaught, adding five more goals to their total. Reid McDowell, Vincent DeMarco, and Robert Roseberry were among the goal scorers for Ottawa, extending their lead to 11-0. However, Saint Mary did manage to find the back of the net twice in the second period with goals from Garrett Carter and Aiden Brace, but it was not enough to catch up to Ottawa's dominant performance.
 
In the third period, Ottawa maintained their offensive momentum, adding five more goals to their tally. Robert Roseberry, Braydon Francis, Vincent DeMarco, Luke Spells, and Reid McDowell all contributed to the scoring, securing Ottawa's victory with a final score of 16-2.
 
Reid McDowell, Vincent DeMarco, and Robert Roseberry led the scoring for Ottawa with four goals each, while Jacob Vincentini, Ethan NewMyer, Braydon Francis, and Luke Spells also added goals to the team's total. Goalkeeper Carter Genzen and the entire defensive unit showcased their skills, keeping Saint Mary to just two goals throughout the game.
 
With this win, the Braves conclude the regular season with an undefeated conference record and hold the No. 1 seed heading into the upcoming KCAC Tournament.
