ST. LOUIS, Mo. - In the KCAC Men's Lacrosse semifinal match-up between the Ottawa Braves and the Missouri Baptist Spartans on Thursday morning, the Braves dominated from start to finish, winning 17-6 and setting up a matchup against Columbia College on Saturday at 1 pm in the KCAC Championship game.
The game started off with both teams trading goals, with
Vincent DeMarco and
Ethan NewMyer scoring for Ottawa and Drew Chiodini and Dylan Forbeck scoring for Missouri Baptist. However, it was all Ottawa from there on out, with the Braves going on an 12-0 scoring run by keeping the Spartans off the scoreboard in the second and third quarters. Missouri Baptist scored four fourth quarter goals, but the game was well out of reach with the Braves cruising to a 17-6 win.
Robert Roseberry,
Vincent DeMarco, and
Braydon Francis all had impressive performances for Ottawa, each netting multiple goals. The Ottawa defense was also solid, holding Missouri Baptist to only two goals after the first quarter.
It was the same exact score as the last matchup between these two teams earlier this season on March 25, a game that started a three-game winning streak for OU.
Ottawa will now advance to the championship game in the KAC Tournament, facing No. 2 seed Columbia at 1 pm on Saturday in St. Louis.
