QUINCY, Ill. - The (RV)Ottawa Lacrosse team fell short against Quincy in a hard-fought game on April 3, 2023. Despite putting up a valiant effort, the Braves lost to the Hawks with a final score of 12-22 at the QU Stadium.
In the first period, the Hawks got off to a quick start with Robinson, Danielle scoring the first goal of the game, followed by a goal from Ham, Amelia. However, Ottawa's Dinah Hinson quickly responded with a goal of her own, tying the game at 1-1. Quincy scored seven more goals in the first period to take a commanding 9-2 lead into the second period.
The Braves fought back hard in the second period, scoring six goals, with Cecily Anderson leading the charge with three goals. Quincy, however, was able to hold onto their lead, scoring five goals of their own in the period, with Robinson, Danielle leading the way with two goals.
The third period saw both teams trade goals, with Ashley Santillan scoring two goals for Ottawa, and Robinson, Danielle adding two more goals for Quincy. The Hawks scored four more goals in the period to take a 19-9 lead into the fourth and final period.
In the final period, Ottawa continued to fight hard, scoring three more goals, with Anderson adding one more goal to bring her total to five goals in the game. Quincy, however, was able to hold on for the win, scoring three more goals in the period to seal the victory.
The Braves will look to bounce back in their next game against St. Ambrose on Thursday.Â
