BELLEVUE, Neb. – The (14) Ottawa University women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to national ranked Indiana University Kokomo and Valley City State University on Friday at the GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic.

How it Happened
- The Braves jumped out to a 5-1 lead in set one over the Cougars. Two IUK attack errors and a Carson Schuman service ace gave the Braves an 11-4 lead. Ottawa increased its lead to 18-8 on a block by Radaisy Valdez and Chaney Barth. Ottawa held IUK in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-15.
- Ottawa fell behind early in set two, with Indiana Kokomo taking a 7-2 lead. Ottawa was not able to recover from its slow start and the Cougars took the 25-16 victory.
- OU struggled in set three as IUK took the 25-13 victory.
- In set four, a kill by Valdez and two service aces from Asia Cole tied the set 4-4. The teams exchanged points and after a Kira Cherry kill, Ottawa led 12-11. The Cougars responded with a 4-0 run to take a 15-12 lead. OU rallied and tied the set at 19-19. Indiana Kokomo scored the next two points, taking a 21-19 lead over OU. The Braves were not able to rally and IUK took the 25-21 victory.

- Ottawa took the early 6-4 lead in set one over the Vikings on a kill by Jontara West. VCSU responded by scoring the next five points, taking a 9-6 lead over the Braves. OU rallied and tied the set, 10-10, on a Jadore Hayes service ace. Valley City State retook the lead and had the 22-19 advantage over the Braves. A kill by Chaney Barth and a block by Kira Cherry and Blythe Manson put OU within 22-21. Ottawa was not able to complete the comeback and VCSU took a 25-22 victory.
- With Ottawa leading set two 10-9, the Braves scored the next five points to take a 15-9 lead on a Cherry kill. The Vikings was not able to respond, and OU took the 25-15 victory.
- The Braves had the 10-8 lead in set three after a kill by Valdez and a VCSU attacking error. The Vikings responded with a 6-2 run, taking a 14-12 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to rally and VCSU took the 25-20 victory.
- In set four, Ottawa was not able to recover from its slow start, falling 25-15.
