OTTAWA, Kan. – The (18) Ottawa University women's volleyball team defeated William Woods University 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-15) and (10) Columbia College 3-1 (19-25, 26-24, 27-25, 25-23) on Saturday in Wilson Field House. With the win over Columbia, Ottawa has a record of 7-4 against nationally ranked teams in 2023.

How it Happened
- The Braves took a 6-1 lead over the Owls in set one. Kills by Chaney Barth and Blythe Manson gave OU an 11-6 lead over William Woods. WWU rallied, scoring six straight points to take a 12-11 lead over OU. Ottawa answered with a 7-1 run and after kills by Radaisy Valdez and Katelyn Elstun, the Braves had an 18-13 lead. The Braves did not allow a WWU rally and OU took the 25-19 victory.
- A Manson kill in set two gave OU a 10-5 lead. Ottawa extended its lead over WWU on a Valdez kill, 16-9. The Owls chipped away at OU's lead and were within 18-16. That is all the closer William Woods would get as Ottawa took the 25-20 victory.
- A kill by Valdez, a WWU attacking error, and a Reile Payne kill gave OU an 8-4 lead in set three. Ottawa did not let off the gas pedal, taking the 25-15 victory.

How it Happened
- Columbia opened set one with a 7-4 lead over OU. A kill by Radaisy Valdez and a CC attacking error put OU within 7-6. The Cougars responded with an 8-3 run, taking a 15-9 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to rally and Columbia took the 25-19 victory.
- With the Cougars leading 14-7, Ottawa rallied. The Braves outscored CC 13-5, taking a 20-19 lead on a Columbia attacking error. The Cougars scored the next three point, retaking the lead 22-20. After a Brave time out, Ottawa scored the next four points. Back-to-back kills by Valdez gave OU a 24-22 lead. CC scored the next two points, tying the set 24-24. A Cougar service error gave OU a 25-24 lead. The Braves ended the set on the next point, taking the 26-24 victory on a Payne kill.
- In set three, the Braves trailed 17-15. Four straight points later, Ottawa had a 19-17 lead. Columbia answered by scoring the next three points, taking a 20-19 lead over OU. Ottawa tied the set on the next point, a Blythe Manson kill, 20-20. The teams exchanged points and the set was tied once more, this time at 25-25. Manson ended the set with two straight kills, giving OU the 27-25 victory.
- In set four, Columbia led 16-10. Ottawa scored the next four points to get within 16-14. The Braves continued to chip away at the Cougar lead and tied the set at 18 all on a CC attacking error. After the Cougar timeout, Ottawa took the lead, 19-18, on a Payne kill. The Braves scored one more point on a Cougar attacking error, 20-18. Columbia rallied, tying the set 21-21. A kill by Manon and a Cougar attacking error gave OU a 23-21 lead. CC scored the next point, cutting OU's lead to 23-22. A Manson kill gave the Braves a 24-22 lead. Columbia again cut into OU's lead and were within 24-23. The Braves ended the set on the next point. Elstun and Manson blocked the Cougar kill attempt and OU took the 25-23 victory.
