LAKELAND, Fla. – The Ottawa University baseball team finished its three game series with no. 1 Southeastern University on Saturday morning with a 10-3 loss to the Fire.
The Fire broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the second inning with six runs. Southeastern increased its lead over the braves in the next three inning, scoring one run in the bottom of the third, two in the bottom of the fourth, and one in the bottom of the fifth to take a 10-0 lead.
Ottawa cut into the SEU lead in the top of the sixth. Back-to-back walks by Donnie Rhyne and
Cole Broughton put two for the Braves.
Pedro Astacio hit his second home run of the season, this one to straight away center field, cutting the Fire lead to 10-3.
The Braves were not able to get any closer to the Fire in the final three innings of play and SEU took the game, 10-3.
