Men's Soccer Outlasts Bethel in Thriller

Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa men's soccer team added to their win total as they defeated Bethel by a score of 4-3 on Saturday evening at AdventHealth Field.

The Braves did not take much time to score, with Cale Scott finding the back of the net in the sixth minute. Bethel tied the match up in the 16th minute, then took the lead in the 35th minute. Bence Molnar tied the game up with a 38th minute goal, assisted by Jevan Purcell-Jackson, then took the lead in the 48th minute with a Toby Witham goal, assisted by Slobodan Novicevic. Bethel tied the game up for the final time in the 53rd minute, with Jevan Purcell-Jackson scoring the game winning goal in the 78th minute, assisted by Alonso Basauri.

Ottawa led both shots and shots on goal, 16 to nine and seven to five, respectively. Nicolo Cinelli made two saves in goal for the Braves.

Ottawa (6-7-1, 5-3-1 KCAC) is back in action on Wednesday, October 23 as they travel to Wichita, Kansas for an away match at Friends University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
