OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's basketball team won its fourth straight season opener, defeating Barclay College 93-39 on Tuesday night in Wilson Field House. Ottawa put two marks in the OU single-game record book. The Braves had 26 steals which is second all-time and their 91 field goals attempted are tied for third all-time in the OU record book.
Ottawa held the Bears to eight points in the first quarter, taking a 32-8 lead into the second. The Braves continued to pour it on defensively in the second quarter, holding Barclay to eight points to take a 53-16 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, OU continued its dominance and was able to clear its bench, taking the 93-39 victory.

Ottawa (1-0) returns to the court on Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3 at the AMC/KCAC Showdown. The Braves will play (RV) Stephens College at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at Columbia College and (RV) Columbia College at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Stephens College.
