Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa men's soccer team played Evangel to a 2-2 tie in a back and forth affair on Wednesday afternoon at AdventHealth Field.
Ruben Gonzalez scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute, which would be the only goal of the half and gave Evangel a 1-0 lead at the break.
Matt Myers tied the game up in the 61st minute off a header assisted by
Alonso Basauri, and
Cale Scott took the lead with an unassisted goal in the 87th minute. Evangel did not waste time responding, as Caleb Kuchta netted the equalizer for the Valor.
Evangel led shots eleven to nine, but Ottawa led shots on goal, four to three.
Nicolo Cinelli made one save in goal for the Braves.
Ottawa (7-7-3, 6-3-3 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, November 2 as they host Sterling College at AdventHealth Field for their final match of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
