Women's Soccer Plays Evangel to a Tie

Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa women's soccer team kept their unbeaten streak alive as they tied Evangel 1-1 on Wednesday afternoon at AdventHealth Field.

Evangel struck first in the ninth minute, with Sophia Weeks scoring the opening goal for the Valor. Makayla Remanente-Bailey answered for the Braves almost immediately, netting a goal also in the ninth minute, assisted by Cennet Oruc. Both teams has their opportunities in the remaining minutes of the games, including two shots off the crossbar for Evangel. However, neither team was able to capitalize.

Evangel led both shots, eleven to six, and shots on goal, nine to five. Te'a Newcomb made five saves in goal for the Braves.

Ottawa (2-9-5, 2-5-5 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, November 2 as they host Sterling College at AdventHealth Field for their final match of the regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
