Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa men's soccer team had a Senior Day to remember as they beat Bethany by a score of 10-0 at AdventHealth Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Braves wasted no time in scoring,
Alonso Basauri found the back of the net in the tenth minute.
Slobodan Novicevic added to the lead in the 40th minute, and
Bence Molnar got in on the action with a 45th minute goal to give Ottawa a 3-0 halftime lead.
Cale Scott scored in the 54th minute, and Molnar scored his second goal in the 76th minute. Basauri added two goals to his tally in the 79th and 80th minutes, and Molnar once again scored in the 82nd minute.
Toby Witham added in the 84th minute, and Basauri finished the scoring in the 85th minute.
Ottawa peppered the goal all day, leading Bethany in shots 33 to two, and took 20 shots on goal to the Swedes' one.
Marko de Sa Faria made one save en route to his first solo clean sheet of the season.
Alonso Basauri led Ottawa in scoring with four goals.
Bence Molnar scored a hat trick, and
Cale Scott;
Slobodan Novicevic; and
Toby Witham scored one goal each. Molnar made three assists, Scott made two. Novicevic, Witham, Basauri, and
Reuben Kester made one assist each.
Ottawa (3-7-1, 2-3-1 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, October 12 as they travel to Hillsboro for a match at Tabor College. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
