Women's Volleyball Defeats Bethany in Three

LINDSBORG, Kan. – The (RV) Ottawa University women's volleyball team won its second straight match with a 3-0; 28-26, 25-18, 25-16; victory over Bethany College in Hahn Gymnasium on Saturday evening.

How it Happened
  • Set one went back and forth with Bethany taking a 24-22 lead over the Braves. Ottawa rallied scoring the final four points of the set to take the 26-24 victory. A kill by Campbell Stark put OU within 24-23. Radaisy Valdez's kill tied the set, 24-24, and two straight service aces by Kenzie Kuxhaus gave OU the 26-24 victory.
  • The Braves took a 5-3 lead over Bethany in set two on a Swede attacking error. BC rallied, scoring four straight points to take a 7-5 lead. Ottawa responded with a 6-2 run, taking an 11-9 lead over the Swedes on a Stark kill. Bethany scored two straight points, tying the set at 11 all. Ottawa answered by scoring the next four points to take a 15-11 lead. Bethany was not able to rally, and the Braves took the 25-18 victory.
  • A block by Valdez and Kira Cherry gave OU an 11-8 lead over the Swedes in set three. A kill by Ariana Arciniega and a Valdez service ace increased the Ottawa lead to 18-11. The Braves held Bethany in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-16 victory.
