Friday's game is the 64th meeting between Ottawa University and Baker University. The Wildcats lead the series, 37-26. Ottawa snapped its six game losing streak to Baker last year on Nov. 7, 2023 in Wilson Field House. OU defeated Baker 59-50. It was OU's first win over the Wildcats since Nov. 15, 2013 when Ottawa defeated Baker 70-66 in Baldwin City. The first game played between the two teams happened in 1907 in Ottawa. The Braves won the game 47-43.
Baker University opened the season on Oct. 28 with an 88-34 win over Kansas Christian College in Baldwin City. The Wildcats shot 38.6 percent from the floor, 25 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 78.9 percent from the free throw line. Alyssa Morris led the team in scoring iwht 21 points on 8-for-19 shooting from the floor. Sophia Barrett scored 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting. Hallie Smires came off the bench to lead the team in rebounding with 11. She finished the night one point shy of a double-double, scoring nine points.
