OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-0; 25-23, 25-16, 25-15; victory over York University on Saturday evening in Wilson Field House.
How It Happened
- Ottawa took an early 4-1 lead over York in set one. A YU attacking error and a kill by Hollie Peters gave OU a 10-7 lead. The Panthers rallied and tied the set at 18 all. OU scored the next two points, taking a 20-18 lead on a block by Kira Cherry and Radaisy Valdez. A kill by Ariana Arciniega and another block by Valdez and Cherry gave the Braves a 23-19 lead. York rallied again and cut OU's lead to 24-23. That is all the closer the Panthers would get. OU ended the set on the next point, a kill by Campbell Stark, 25-23.
- OU scored the first six points of set two. Kills by Stark and Valdez gave OU a 13-6 lead over York. The Panthers never threatened OU's lead and the Braves took the 25-16 victory.
- In set three, Ottawa raced out to an 8-3 lead. York cut into OU's lead and were within 8-6. That is all the closer YU would get to the Braves as Ottawa took the 25-15 victory.
