Men's Basketball Travels East to Columbia College to Finish its 2024 Schedule

The Braves won their third straight game, defeating Sterling College 88-71 at the Gleason Center last Saturday afternoon. Ottawa shot 51.5 percent from the floor, 55.6 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 72.7 percent from the free throw line.

Keith Robinson recorded his third straight double-double in the win over Sterling. It is his fifth double-double in the Braves last seven games.

Ottawa is averaging 84.3 points, 43.3 rebounds, and 15.6 assists per game. OU is shooting 46.7 percent from the floor, 32 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 74.6 percent from the free throw line.

OU is ranked 50th in the NAIA in points (1,012), 44th in points per game (84.3), 24th in field goals made per game (32.1), 16th in field goals attempted per game (68.8), 51st in free throw percentage (.746), 49th in offensive rebounds per game (12.3), fourth in defensive rebounds per game (31.0), seventh in total rebounds per game (43.3), and 34th in rebound margin per game (7.0).

Jayden Hibbitt leads the Braves in scoring (16.8), Keith Robinson is OU's leader in rebounding (9.3), Deondre Buggage is the Braves' leader in assists (3.2), Alex Riddick is the team's leader in blocks (1.3) and Najee Jones leads the team in steals (2.2) per game.

The Braves are 4-1 in non-conference games. OU's lone non-conference loss was on Oct. 28 against, then, no. 19 Baker University in Wilson Field House 89-79. In non-conference games, Ottawa is outscoring opponents 89-66 and shooting 48.3 percent from the floor and 29.6 percent from behind the 3-pt line. Opponents are shooting 37.9 percent from the floor and 28.4 percent from behind the 3-pt line.

In non-conference games, OU has three players averaging in double figures: Keith Robinson (18.6), Jayden Hibbitt (15.6), and Deondre Buggage (15.4).

Columbia College is 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the AMC. The Cougars has their four game winning streak broken with an 84-81 loss to William Woods University on Dec. 12 in Fulton, Mo.

This season, the Cougars are averaging 80.4 points, 43.3 rebounds, and 19.3 assists per game. They are shooting 44.7 percent from the floor, 33.2 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 71.2 percent from the free throw line.

Collin Parker leads Columbia in scoring (23.8), rebounding (8.8), and blocks (1.7). Seth Larson is the team's leader in assists (3.7) and Kai Steinman leads the Cougars in steals (1.0) per game.

Columbia is ranked 22nd in the NAIA in 3-pt field goals made per game (9.7), ninth in 3-pt field goals attempted per game (29.1), 37th in offensive rebounds per game (12.8), seventh in defensive rebounds per game (30.5), seventh in total rebounds per game (43.3), 45th in rebound margin per game (6.2), sixth in assists per game (19.3), 39th in turnovers per game (11.1), 37th in blocks per game (3.8), and fourth in personal fouls per game (12.7).

In home games, the Cougars are scoring  78.8 points per game and shooting 43.2 percent from the floor.

In their eight wins, Columbia is scoring 80.9 points per game and shooting 45.6 percent from the floor. In their four losses, the Cougars are scoring 79.5 points and shooting 43 percent from the floor.
