OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's basketball team fell 71-53 to Bethany College in Wilson Field House on Saturday afternoon.
The Braves scrapped and clawed their way to a one point lead over the Swedes at the half, 28-27. It was the third quarter that OU struggled with Bethany outscoring OU 22-13 to take 49-40 lead into the fourth.
In the final quarter of play, a 3-pt field goal by
Dominique Schutte put OU within 51-45. The Swedes scored the next four points, taking a 55-45 lead over the Braves.
The Braves cut into the Swede lead again. Two free throws by
Tiyani Rollins cut the deficit to five points, 55-50, with 6:09 left in the game. Ottawa not able to any closer to Bethany and was unable to complete the comeback. The Swedes ended the game on a 16-3 run, taking the 71-53 victory.
