Marshall, Mo.- The Ottawa men's lacrosse team opened their season with a win as they beat Missouri Valley by a score of 19-1 on Wednesday evening.
The Braves didn't take long to get on the board, scoring their first goal in the first six seconds of the game. Ottawa would score 11 more goals in the first half to take a 12-0 lead going into halftime. Missouri Valley's lone goal came in the third period, and Ottawa scored 7 goals in the second half.
Eight players scored for Ottawa, including
Reid McDowell with six and
Vincent DeMarco with 5.
Jake Christopherson and
Carter Genzen split time in goal and made one save each.
Ottawa (1-0, 0-0 KCAC) returns to action as they host (RV) Siena Heights on Monday, March 4 at AdventHealth Field. That game is scheduled to start at 6 PM.
