Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa men's lacrosse team won their second consecutive game to start the season as they beat (RV) Siena Heights in overtime by a score of 14-13 at AdventHealth Field on Monday evening.
After a relatively even 5-4 first period in favor of the Saints, Ottawa scored five goals to Siena Heights' two in the second period to take a 9-7 halftime lead. Siena Heights tied the game up going into the fourth with a 3-1 third period, and both teams scored three goals to send the game into overtime. Two minutes into the extra time,
Jack Brackin scored for the Braves, giving them the win.
Ottawa had seven goalscorers, notably
Vincent DeMarco with five, and
David Wiley,
Reid McDowell, and
Jack Brackin with two each. DeMarco and Brackin had three and two assists, respectively. Jack Christopherson made 14 saves.
Ottawa (2-0, 0-0 KCAC) returns to play on Saturday, March 9 as they travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa to take on (6) William Penn University. That game will start at 4 PM.
