St. Louis, Mo.- The Ottawa women's lacrosse team dropped their KCAC opener to Missouri Baptist by a score of 8-15 on Saturday afternoon.
Missouri Baptist got off to an early lead with a 5-1 first period, and kept their four goal lead going into halftime with a 1-1 second period. Ottawa cut into the lead slightly with a 6-5 third period, but the Spartans extended their lead with a 4-0 fourth period.
Mackenzie Simmons lead Ottawa with four goals,
Ashley Santillan scored two.
KaiAnna Senne and
Curstin Brown scored one each. Brown and Felecia Dixon made one assist each.
Shelby Bearden made 21 saves.
Ottawa (2-6, 0-1 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, March 30 at 1 PM as they travel to Georgetown College for a non-conference matchup.
