BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The (23) Ottawa University softball team split with Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon. The Braves took game one, 4-1, but fell in game two, 3-0.
Game One
The Braves took the lead in the top of the second inning.
Kara Hafenstine tripled to right-center.
Reagan Hammons' sacrifice fly to center scored Hafenstine, giving OU a 1-0 lead.
Cierra Faubion singled to left.
Megan Kennedy's triple to right scored Faubion and the Braves had a 2-0 lead. Kennedy then crossed home plate on a throwing error by the OKWU pitcher and Ottawa led 3-0.
Ottawa increased its lead over the Eagles in the top of the third.
Macy Roever tripled to right and then scored on the throw, giving OU a 4-0 lead.
OKWU cut into the Brave lead with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, 4-1.
In the top of the seventh, OKWU tried to rally. The Eagles had two reach base in the final inning of play. But the Braves did not allow a run to cross home plate and OU took the 4-1 victory.

- Macy Roever had two hits in four at bats and scored one run.
- Ashlynn Mercer earned win no. 11. She pitched six innings, striking out two.
- Loralei Gilbert earned save no. 4, pitching the seventh inning for the Braves.
Game Two
The Eagles took a 2-0 lead over the Braves in the bottom of the second inning. They extended their lead over OU with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Braves were not able to rally in the top of the seventh and OKWU took the 3-0 victory.

Ottawa (23-10, 7-2) returns to the diamond on Saturday, March 30 against Bethel College at Alumni Park. Game one of the double header is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
