Columbia, Mo.- The Ottawa men's lacrosse team suffered their first conference loss of the season as they fell to Columbia by a score of 6-7 on Wednesday evening.
Columbia led the entire game, starting with a 2-0 first period. A 1-1 second period gave the Cougars a 3-1 halftime lead. Ottawa cut into the lead with a 2-1 third period, but Columbia used a 3-3 fourth period to secure the victory.
Vicent DeMarco and
Reid McDowell scored two goals each.
Ethan NewMyer and
William Carroll scored one goal each. DeMarco made two assists, and NewMyer and McDowell made one each.
Jake Christopherson made eight saves.
Ottawa (3-6, 1-1 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, April 6 at 2 PM as they host Midland University at AdventHealth Field.
