Box Score FREMONT, Neb. – The Ottawa University women's flag football team defeated Midland University, 21-7, on Saturday afternoon.
The Braves received the ball to start the game and moved it to the Warriors four yard line. Ottawa was not able to cross the goal line and Midland took over on downs.
The OU defense forced a Midland punt and the OU offense took over on its own 39 yard line. On their second drive of the game, the Brave offense was able to cross the goal line. On first and goal from the Warrior nine,
Madysen Carrera threw a nine yard touchdown pass to
Alyssa Linkous. The extra point attempt was good and OU led 7-0 with 11:54 to go in the second quarter.
Midland quickly answered and tied with a two play scoring drive, 7-7, with 11:13 to go in the first half.
The Braves answered with a two play scoring drive of their own and led 14-7 at the half.
Ottawa extended its lead over Midland with 4:33 to go in the third quarter, 21-7. OU shut out Midland in the second half, taking the 21-7 victory.
