St. Louis, Mo.- The Ottawa women's lacrosse team got its first win in the KCAC Tournament as they defeated UHSP by a score of 17-5 in the seminfinals on Thursday afternoon.
Ottawa got off to a small lead as they lead 3-2 after the first period, and extended that lead with a 4-0 second period. 4-2 and 6-1 third and fourth periods secured the victory for the Braves.
Mackenzie Simmons lead Ottawa with six goals,
KaiAnna Senne scored four.
Felicia Dixon scored three goals, four different players scored one goal each.
Ashley Santillan made five assists, Simmons made three.
Curstin Brown made two assists.
Shelby Bearden made eight saves.
Ottawa (7-7, 3-1 KCAC) has advanced to the KCAC Tournament championship against top seeded (8) Missouri Baptist. That game will be played at Saturday, April 20 at 1 PM in St. Louis, Mo.
