OTTAWA, Kan. - The (RV) Ottawa men's soccer team fell in their season opener at the hands of (16) William Penn at AdventHealth Field on Saturday morning.

William Penn opened the scoring with a 27th minute goal by Albert Feixas, giving the Statesmen a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Ottawa countered just after the second half began, a 47 minute goal by Alonso Basauri assisted by Cale Scott evening the score at 1-1. Feixas scored his second in thre 60th minute to give William Penn the lead back, and Hugo Cornish added an insurance goal for the Statesmen in the 76th minute.

William Penn outshot Ottawa 22-7, with 6 and 3, respectively, being on goal. Marko de Sa Faria made three saves for the Braves.

Ottawa (0-1-0, 0-0-0 KCAC) returns to the field on Wednesday, August 28, as they travel to Olathe, Kansas for an away match at (1) MidAmerica Nazarene. That match is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 PM.
