(25) Women's Volleyball is Defeated by Our Lady of the Lake, 3-0

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The (25) Ottawa University women's volleyball team fell 3-0; 25-18, 25-23, 25-15; to Our Lady of the Lake University on Thursday night in OLL Mabee Gymnasium.

How it Happened
  • The Saints scored the first nine points of set one. Ottawa did not wilt and chipped away at the OLLU lead. OU scored nine straight points and after a Radaisy Valdez kill, Ottawa was within 23-18. That is all the closer the Braves would get. The Saints scored the next two points, taking the 25-18 victory.
  • Ottawa led 9-4 in set two. OLLU rallied, outscoring the Braves 8-2 to take a 12-11 lead. OU scored the next three points and led 14-12 after a Kira Cherry kill. Another kill by Valdez gave OU an 18-16 lead. Our Lady of the Lake rallied, scoring four straight to take a 20-18 lead. Ottawa responded with two straight points, tying the set 20-20 on a Campbell Stark block. The teams exchanged points and the set was tied again, this time at 22 all. The Saints scored the next two points, taking a 24-22 lead. A block by Valdez put OU within 24-23. The Braves were not able to complete the comeback and OLLU took the set on the next point, 25-23.
  • OLLU took a 21-9 lead over the Braves in set no. 3. Ottawa was not able to rebound from its slow start and the Saints took the 25-15 victory.
