SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The (25) Ottawa University women's volleyball team won its second straight match with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-17) victory over John Brown University in OLLU Mabee Gymnasium on Saturday morning.
How it Happened
- John Brown took a 14-9 lead over the Braves in set one. Ottawa rallied and after blocks by Arian Arciniega and Radaisy Valdez, the Braves were within 14-12. OU continued to chip away at the Golden Eagle lead. Kills by Ina Grbic and Kira Cherry gave OU its first lead of the set, 17-16. Ottawa pushed its lead to 21-17 on a Carson Schuman service ace. OU held JBU in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-19 victory.
- A block by Grbic gave OU a 6-3 lead over John Brown in set no. 2. Hollie Peters' kill increased the OU lead to 11-8. Ottawa held the Golden Eagles to eight more points the remainder of the set, taking the 25-16 victory.
- JBU took an early 4-2 lead over OU in set three. Three straight points by the Braves gave them a 6-4 lead. Kills by Peters and Arian Arciniega gave OU an 11-8 lead. The Golden Eagles never threatened the Brave lead and OU took the set, 25-17.

- Kira Cherry led OU with 12 kills.
