(RV) Women's Volleyball is Defeated by (14) Park, 3-0

PARKVILLE, Mo. – The (RV) Ottawa University women's volleyball team fell 3-0; 25-20, 25-21, 25-20; to (14) Park University on Saturday afternoon. OU senior middle blocker, Radaisy Valdez, earned her 1,000th kill in an OU uniform in set no. 2 against the Pirates. She now has 1,524 career kills.

How it Happened
  • Ottawa opened set one with a 4-1 lead over Park. A kill by Kira Cherry gave the Braves a 6-4 lead over the Pirates. Park responded by scoring five straight points to take a 9-6 lead over OU. The Pirates continued to hold its lead, increasing it to 22-14. Ottawa tried to rally and cut the Park lead to 24-20. That is all the closer the Braves were able to get. Park scored the next point, taking the set 25-20.
  • Park jumped out to the early lead in set two. Ottawa chipped away at the lead and after kills by Cherry and Hollie Peters, Ottawa had a 17-16 lead. Park answered with a 5-2 run to take a 21-19 lead. The Braves could not rally, and Park took the 25-21 victory.
  • A kill by Campbell Stark gave the Braves a 7-3 lead over Park in set three. The Pirates rallied, taking a 16-14 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to stage a comeback and Park took the 25-20 victory.

  • Radaisy Valdez led OU with nine kills. She had six blocks, two service aces, and four digs.
