Women's Basketball Hosts Avila on Monday

The Braves dropped their sixth straight game with a 70-62 loss to Tabor College in Tabor Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. Ottawa shot 38.6 percent from the floor, 29.4 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 76.5 percent from the free throw line. OU had three players in double figures led by Abbie Sextro's 17 points. She was one rebound away from a double-double, finishing with a team high nine rebounds. Janiyah Hendricks had 15 points and two steals. Dominique Schutte finished the game with 11 points.

Ottawa is averaging 73.1 points, 37.7 rebounds, and 11.7 assists per game. OU is shooting 37.6 percent from the floor, 29.7 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 72.4 percent from the free throw line.

Abbie Sextro leads the Braves in scoring (12.2) and rebounding (6.8) per game. Janiyah Hendricks is OU's leader in assists (2.6) per game. Dominique Schutte is the Braves' leader in blocks per game (0.4) and Nora Ford leads the team in steals per game (2.4).

Prior to that, OU had won two straight over the Eagles. Ottawa is 6-4 in its last 10 games against Avila. The first ever meeting between the two teams was on Dec. 9, 1975 in Wilson Field House. Prior to that loss, the Eagles had defeated Bethel College, 66-59 on Jan. 3. That win snapped their four game losing streak.

The Eagles are averaging 62.5 points, 29.5 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game. They are shooting 39 percent from the floor, 32.2 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 77.0 percent from the free throw line.

Marlie Wright does a little bit of everything for the Eagles. She leads them in scoring (13.0), rebounding (5.9), assists (2.7), and steals (2.1) per game. Madilyn Melton is the team's leader in blocks (0.5) per game.
