OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa women's soccer team salvaged a point as they tied Kansas Wesleyan 2-2 on Saturday evening at AdventHealth Field.
Kansas Wesleyan scored the first two goals of the game, netting goals in the sixth and 37th minutes. At halftime, the Coyotes led 2-0. Ottawa halved that lead in the 69th minute as
Riley Smith connected on a through ball by
Lily Martin.
Peyton Hack scored a header after a corner fracus with just ten seconds left, tying the game at two apiece, which would prove to be the final score.
Kansas Wesleyan outshot Ottawa 18 to nine in total shots and seven to four in shots on goal.
Ottawa (3-6-3, 2-4-2 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, October 18 as they travel to Lindsborg, Kansas for a game at Bethany College. That game is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM.
