LINDSBORG, Kan. - The Ottawa women's soccer team kept their unbeaten streak going as they beat Bethany 6-0 on Saturday evening in Lindsborg.
Ottawa opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a
Peyton Hack goal assisted by
Cennet Oruc. The Braves then tacked on two more in quick succession, scoring 21st and 22nd minute goals by
Riley Smith and Hack, assisted by Hack and
Melissa Grohmann.
Liv Staberg scored a 45th minute goal assisted by
Rylee Ringer to give Ottawa a 4-0 halftime lead.
Alyssa Rutherford found the back of the net shortly after halftime in the 48th minute, assisted by
Cennet Oruc, and
Reece Young capped off the scoring in the 72nd minute via an assist by
Genesis Joya.
Ottawa led total shots 21 to two and shots on goal 13 to two.
Te'a Newcomb and
Makena Tapia made one save each in a combined clean sheet.
Ottawa (4-6-3, 3-4-2 KCAC) returns to the field on Wednesday, October 22 as they travel to Winfield, Kansas for an away game at Southwestern College. That game is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM.
