Ottawa dropped its third straight game with a 28-7 loss to no. 6 Friends University on Oct. 4 at AdventHealth Field. Friends rushed for 447 yards on 59 carries (7.6 avg.). Ottawa was limited to just five rushing yards on 17 attempts.
Luke Edwards completed 25 of 46 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Jayden Johnson led the Braves' receivers with seven catches for 88 yards. Defensively,
Bryson Nolan and
Ethan Yinger paced Ottawa with nine tackles apiece, while
Christian Obregon forced a fumble and added six stops.
Through six games this season, Ottawa is scoring 23.5 points per game. The OU offense is averaging 335.8 yards of offense per game, 89.7 yards rushing and 246.2 yards passing. Ethan Yinger is OU's leader in tackles with 40. He has two tackles for loss, one pass break up and one recovered fumble.
Teagan Flynn leads the team in sacks with seven.
Jaden Thatcher is the team's leader in pass breakups with five.

Saturday is the third game between Ottawa University and Evangel University. EU leads the series 2-0, defeating OU 27-14 on Sept. 28, 2024 in Ottawa and 27-21 on Sept. 23, 2023 in Nixa, Mo.
Ottawa is 1-2 on the road this season with its road victory coming at Sterling College on Sept. 13. In three road games this season, OU is averaging 306 yards per game while opponents are averaging 415 yards per game.
The Valor snapped their two game losing streak with a 7-6 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University in Nixa, Mo. on Oct. 4. In what proved to be a low scoring affair, a late touchdown by Evangel proved to be the difference, as EU took a 7-6 win on Homecoming over the Coyotes. Draven VanGilder led Evangel with 13 tackles, while Erik Spring finished with 12 tackles and the game-winning interception. Talon Stephens also recorded an interception in the win while VanGilder and Jaren Foster recorded tackles for loss. Reid Potts finished his day with 179 passing yards and a touchdown pass, while James Dowdy led all receivers with 65 yards receiving. Eric Williams II finished his afternoon with 43 yards on the ground.
